WYLYE VALLEY KANTER
SUNDAY 7 OCTOBER 2018
10/20/30/40 kms -
Start Venue: South Newton Village Hall, on A36 approx 5 miles NW of Salisbury [GR 184/083351]
Start Time: From 0830.
Finish Time: By 1700, anyone finishing after this time will be deemed a non finisher.
Entry Fee: £2.50 to include drinks. An embroidered badge will be available for purchase at a cost of £3.00. A certificate will be available for an additional 50p.
Light refreshments will be available to purchase at start and finish.
Chosen route distance to be nominated at Start.
The routes will be defined by grid references which may be visited in any order and at each location a simple question has to be answered. By careful selection, and taking the shortest route on public rights of way between points, a choice of the four distances may be taken. The routes will cover downland, riverside and wooded areas with minimal road sections. Because of the many possible choices of routes there will be no manned checkpoints so each entrant must carry sufficient food and drink for the day.
OS Landranger Map 184 (Salisbury and The Plain) or OS Explorer Map 130 (Salisbury and Stonehenge) and pencil are essential and a compass might prove useful.
All dogs must be on leads at all times.
Runners and joggers are welcome to participate.
The event does not fall within the scope of the Adventure Activities Licensing Regulations.
Each participant takes part at his or her own risk. The organisers are not liable for accidents, thefts, and/or damage to property. Every effort will be made by the organisers to make this a safe, enjoyable and memorable event.
