Home About Us Walks TB Races

Amesbury Walkers was formed in 1986 to promote non-competitive walking as a healthy leisure activity for all ages with our walks organised so that they may be completed at your own pace.

We are affiliated members of three main walking organisations.

The British Walking Federation which in turn is affiliated to the International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV). This is a union of world wide clubs who organise non competitive walks and aims to encourage participation in a spirit of sportsmanship and friendliness.

The Long Distance Walkers Association whose aim is to further the interests of those who enjoy long distance walking and whose main interest is in events of 20 miles or more.

The Ramblers’ Association who exist to facilitate, for the benefit of everyone, the enjoyment and discovery on foot of Britain’s countryside, and to improve respect for the life of the countryside.

For Further information about the club please contact our Secretary.

Various social events are organised throughout the year and we keep in touch through a Newsletter distributed via email. Please contact the Secretary if you wish to be added to the mailing list.

We do not have a membership fee but encourage people, of all ages, to come along to our events. We make a small charge at each walk, currently £1, which covers cost of hiring halls, insurance and all the usual administration costs.  Further information can be found in main Walk page.
